What You’ll Learn & Experience During Your Agriculture Internship in Canada
This is not an observation program.
At Campbell Land, you work alongside us on a real, operating grain farm. You learn by doing — contributing to the same daily responsibilities that keep a Canadian farm running.
As your skills grow, so does your level of responsibility.
By the end of your internship, you won’t just understand agriculture — you’ll have lived it.
🌾 Crop Production & Field Operations
Experience the full growing season from start to finish:
-
Seeding wheat, barley, canola, peas, and prairie crops
-
Supporting harvest and grain handling
-
Preparing fields and monitoring crop health
-
Cleaning and organizing equipment
-
Understanding how weather shapes daily farm decisions
You’ll see how food is produced at scale — not in theory, but in real time.
🚜 Equipment & Farm Machinery
Modern agriculture runs on machinery, and learning how it works is part of everyday life here.
Depending on your training and confidence level, you may learn:
-
Daily inspections and safety checks
-
Shop organization and tool care
-
Equipment preparation during busy seasons
-
Basic maintenance and troubleshooting
-
Safe operation procedures
Responsibility increases with demonstrated competence and awareness.
Safety always comes first.

-
Adapting to weather and seasonal demands

Managing time-sensitive tasks
-
Working within structured schedules
-
Solving hands-on challenges
-
Collaborating with a small, focused team
This is real-world agriculture — not a classroom simulation.

Because this is a working environment, effective communication is crucial.
You’ll naturally improve your English through:
-
Daily conversations
-
Task instructions
-
Team problem-solving
-
Agriculture-specific vocabulary
Confidence grows quickly when language is tied to meaningful work.

Work ethic
-
Accountability
-
Physical endurance
-
Confidence
-
Independence
-
The ability to contribute under pressure
These are the qualities employers value most — and they stay with you long after the internship ends.

Your internship takes place on a 6,000-acre family-run grain farm in Northern Alberta.
Expect:
-
Long summer evenings
-
Big prairie skies
-
Quiet rural rhythm
-
Physical work
-
Shared meals

A small team that feels like family
This isn’t a vacation or tourist stay.
